More than two years ago, we began to make plans for a new, state-of-the-art television production studio for WRXY.  Since its inception, WRXY has primarily broadcast programs from national ministries, programs relayed to us from the Christian Television Network's satellite signal, and programs produced at the facilities of various local churches and ministries.  The only local programs we were able to produce were recorded on individual tapes from portable camcorders, and then pieced together in our editing rooms.  Broadcasting of any live programs was confined only to local emergencies and one-time special events.

Once our studio is constructed and equipped, hopefully by the fall of this year, a whole new world of possibilities will be opened to us.  Its usage will be primarily focused in four areas.

First, we will now be able to produce high quality programming for churches and local ministries that don't want to or are unable to purchase television equipment themselves.

Second, we plan on producing a number of programs ourselves.  An existing program called "Times of Refreshing" hosted by station manager, Paul Lodato, will benefit greatly with a studio for its production.  We're also investigating a live, call-in program with a well-known expert on topics related to marriage and family.  In addition we'd like to hear from you with ideas for Christian and family-friendly programming you'd like to see.  Click here for an opportunity to submit any programming ideas you might have.

Third, we're planning to make our facility available to morally acceptable local businesses for the production of television commercials to be used on other broadcast and cable outlets.  Our facility will also be equipped for quality audio recording for church worship teams, soloists, and small groups who would like to produce master recordings for CD distriubtion.  These activities will help to fund the maintenance and upgrading of the facility.

Fourth, as we look to the future of Christian media, we are establishing a video training center where young people, who represent the future of Christian outreach, can receive training and experience in media production.  We're calling it Vision Video Institute, and the intense, one month curriculum will be open to all ages and all persons whether they wish to get involved in Christian or secular media.  It is scheduled to begin its first class in September of 2008.

Take your time to explore this website, and catch the vision for the future of the communication of the Christian message through the media here in Southwest Florida.  We want and need your involvement in prayer, as a volunteer, as a financial partner, and as a promoter of the minstry of WRXY and Vision Video Institute.  This ministry is ripe with potential, and we need your help to maximize the effectiveness of the tools God has placed and is placing at our disposal.
